Horner House

Shop name: The Kitchen Place

Built by Robert Hand in the late 18th century, it was purchased in 1919 by William Crane, who rented it to James Horner and his family. The son of a Civil War veteran, Horner was a clerk in the Village Store, an insurance agent, a chauffeur, and a member of the fire department. The house is at 1545 Springfield Avenue.
