No. 44 Murray Hill Square

The house is based on the New Jersey headquarters of German-born Baron Friedrich Von Steuben (1730-94) who sailed to America in 1777 to assist the colonists in the struggle against Britain. Von Stueben served as a major general under George Washington at Valley Forge. The house has an unusual telescoping design, with one part similar in design but smaller than the other.
